Movies in
the park

Don’t miss the FREE Movies in the Park presented by Gold Coast Film Festival this March 2020.

Gold Coast Superhero Weekend and the Gold Coast Film Festival have joined forces to bring the young and young at heart, an exciting selection of popular culture film screenings across two evenings.

Film Program:

 ELSTREE 1976 (PG) | 7pm Friday 13 March

Take a trip back to the summer of 1976, to the set of a mysterious new film ‘Star Wars’, by an unknown filmmaker called George Lucas. ‘Elstree 1976’ takes you behind-the-scenes of the original Star Wars film with interviews from actors and extras and stories about the film and the cultural phenomenon it became.

SPACEBALLS (PG) | 6:30pm Saturday 14 March

Settle in for a night of belly laughs and quotable humour in the 1987 satirical comedy Spaceballs. Parodying the original Star Wars trilogy (among other cult favourites), Spaceballs follows a hero and his trusty half-man, half-dog sidekick as they set out to rescue a kidnapped princess from the clutches of an evil despot.

Location: Victoria Park, Broadbeach.

What to bring:

We suggest bringing your own camp chairs, picnic blankets or something comfortable to sit on while you watch.
