The Gold Coast Superhero Weekend events are held throughout the Broadbeach precinct including:

  • Supanova Comic Con & Gaming Expo at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre
  • Supanova Superhero Parade presented by Supanova Comic Con & Gaming Expo throughout the streets of Broadbeach
  • Movies in the Park (presented by Gold Coast Film Festival) are hosted in Kurrawa Park


The Supanova Comic Con & Gaming Expo is the only ticketed event of the weekend. The rest of the Gold Coast Superhero Weekend activities are FREE for everyone to enjoy.

Plan the easiest route to Broadbeach from your current location using Google Maps.

The G:link Light Rail has two stations located in Broadbeach including Broadbeach South - located out the front of Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and Broadbeach North - in front of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on the Gold Coast Highway. Broadbeach North is within walking distance to the Broadbeach CBD including the Broadbeach Mall, Surf Parade, the Oasis Shopping Centre and Kurrawa Beach.

If you are travelling from the Southern end of the Coast, such as Coolangatta, you will need to catch the bus from the dry side of the highway and hop off at the Broadbeach South Tram Station Bus Interchange. If you are travelling from Surfers Paradise or further north you can now catch the G:Link.

There are plenty of parking options in Broadbeach with a lot of public car parks in the precinct.

Oracle Boulevard Card Park (entry via Elizabeth Avenue)

Phoenician Car Park (entrance via Main Place Laneway)

As well as alternate options including along the streets including Charles Avenue, Elizabeth Avenue and Old Burleigh Road – free and metered.

There sure are! There are several public toilets located throughout the Broadbeach precinct. There are also public toilets located in The Oasis Shopping Centre, Niecon Plaza and in the Convention Centre (for those attending the Supanova Comic Con & Gaming Expo).

Every imaginable cuisine!  The Gold Coast Superhero Weekend is situated in the heart of the Broadbeach CBD with plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars, fast food outlets and supermarkets to suit all tastes and budgets.

Yes absolutely! There are several ATM’s located throughout Broadbeach. A full list of ATMs’ is below:

  • Westpac – Victoria Avenue, near McDonalds
  • Commonwealth – Corner of Oasis Shopping Centre
  • BOQ – Broadbeach Mall, in front of the Mall Stage
  • ANZ – Oracle, Charles Avenue

There will be accessible viewing areas at all programmed events throughout the Gold Coast Superhero Weekend. If you have any issues locating or accessing these areas, please ask Security or Gold Coast Superhero Weekend staff to assist.

For the Supanova Superhero Parade multiple accessible viewing areas will be located along the parade route (Queensland Avenue and Surf Parade).


GCSW is short for Gold Coast Superhero Weekend!

‘The practice of dressing up as a character from a film, book, or video game, especially one from the Japanese genres of manga or anime.’

Of course, the more the merrier! The Gold Coast Superhero Weekend is a family-friendly event, with something to do for all ages.

The correct answer is that they are both rad!



Whether you have been working on your latest cosplay for months and can’t wait to show it off or you just love putting on a costume to brighten up people’s days, the Supanova Superhero Parade is for you!

Thanks for wanting to get involved. Gold Coast Superhero Weekend operates in a CBD precinct with a multitude of food types and options, catering to a variety of needs and cuisines. As a result, additional food vendors are not required for this event.

Unfortunately, we are not accepting any market stalls at this time… but never fear! The Supanova Comic Con & Gaming Expo may still have stalls available. Click HERE to view.

For the safety of the parade participants and general public, all media/photographers MUST be wearing official event accreditation to be able to cover the Supanova Superhero Parade.

Media Pass requests MUST be submitted to the Gold Coast Superhero Weekend Marketing Department by Friday 6th March 2020.

Non-accredited media along the Supanova Superhero Parade route may be removed by security.
